MINDFULNESS FOR BEGINNERS
I have always struggled with meditation. I struggled to incorporate time into my day to sit down and try to find a sense of peace. Without a guided mindfulness practice, I often found that meditation turned into moments of me sitting, worrying about my to-do list. It was challenging to notice my thoughts and feelings, and not circulate my mind around them.
That is when I stumbled on mindfulness and mantras. As a yoga teacher, it is a ritual to bring a mantra to class. Mantras are something for students to come back to if they are slipping away from the present moment.
Mindfulness is a similar practice, but it works to keep you in the present moment in your day-to-day life. You can opt to set aside time for mindfulness meditations or learn to take mindfulness with you throughout your day.
